What is the age range?

Campers entering grades 5th - 8th grade are welcome to apply!

How long is Camp Legacy?

Camp Legacy is a Weekend camping experience. Campers will leave Oakland on Friday, June 20th around 9:00 am and return to Oakland on Sunday, June 22nd around 2:00 pm. Transportation from Oakland to camp Legacy will be provided for campers.

Does my camper have to identify as Black to attend?

Camp Legacy is designed to be an Intentional space for black youth to enjoy the outdoors amongst their peers. While we don't exclude campers from attending based on race/ethnicity, we hope families understand and respect the space we are working to create and preserve for our campers.

Does my camper need to be a resident of Oakland to attend?

We accept campers from all over the bay area! As long as campers have transportation to and from the drop off location in Oakland, CA, they are welcome to apply!

How much does it cost for my camper to attend?

Thanks to grants and generous donations, Young Legacies is able to pay 75% of the total cost for campers! This means, families only have to pay $65.00 total for lodging, food, and transportation for the entire weekend.
